Dark Clouds Ahead

Have we lost our sense of humor?

We can only live our lives one day at a time... yes we can plan, but really, that's about it... we can only plan.  Things happen everyday, some brings us good news, and some makes us question our beliefs... our faith... and then we see these dark clouds ahead... and our world turns into this stormy, depressing place.

And then we ask... why? why me? why?

We stayed on this dark corner of our lives for a while, time passed by, and we don't realize that not all dark cloud turns into rain... some, eventually, just goes away and clears our skies... and we can see much brighter on things... on our lives.

Have we lost our sense of humor?  If the answer is yes... then it is a f**k'n sad life!

When It Rain, It Pours

There’s something not right about this month... I’m basically living on the four corner of this ship for 3 months now but it doesn’t mean we’re not part of the real world anymore.  In fact, we are the links that complete the chain of life for the people who love us... who depend on us.

The first of bad news that hit us was for our motorman on board... his brother past away.  He’s devastated, of course, who wouldn’t be.  Same day that the motorman received the devastating news about his brother, my wife informed me that my eldest daughter was rushed to the hospital due to bleeding from her nose and mouth.  After spending days in the hospital, they’re back home now, with them are the medicines and more prescription for tuberculosis... poor girl.

The bad news doesn’t stop there though, just the other day, our ex-motorman, the one relieved by our present motorman here at the moment, emailed our 2^nd officer sharing the news that his father past away... then our Captain received a news from his brother that their father was also admitted in the hospital... and just yesterday, one of our ab’s mother was also rushed to the hospital... it really pours when it rain.

I guess what I am saying is that, we might be living our lives here on board miles away from our families and friends, we are closest to them more than ever, especially on hard times.  I know that our physical presence would be very much appreciated, but sometimes not being there, and sending help instead is a choice that we have to do.  Our world here is the extension of the life of the people we left home.  We feel for each other here, we share our good times, so as the bad... we’re family.  That’s why I always say that joining on board is like living home... for another home.

TWTW - October 11-17, 2010

The week that was...

Lot of things happened this week. Our town celebrated our annual fiesta this week, Me and my lovely wife celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary.

Unfortunately, my eldest daughter was rushed to hospital because of bleeding from her nose and mouth... hay... I really feel sad when things like these happened to my family when I'm not there... and all I can do is just call... and pray.

Anyways, I hope that they'll be out of the hospital soon and I'm praying that all her sickness will go away and that she'll be able to go to school, play and enjoy life like the rest of the children. I love you Bea and Khiv.

Winter... coming soon

It's the 1st of October... it's getting colder and colder, especially in the morning... it's freezing.  Hopefully, the winter this year will be a milder one compare to the winter last year...it was terrible.  I have photos taken in one of our berths in Hamburg, Germany last year.
